When: August 2, 2024 from 5:00 to 10:00pm MT
Venue, Event, Directions and Parking
Venue: City Park Park Pavilion, 2001 Steele St, Denver CO. It is located within City Park, the largest park in the city.
A couple of photos below to give you a sense of the Pavilion. It is both outdoors and fully protected from sun and rain. It will likely be hot, though Denver usually cools fairly rapidly at night. Dress comfortably – a bit dressy but lightweight. Examples are a light shirt and pants for guys, and sundresses for gals.
Know we plan to have multiple ways to help keep cool – including lots of ice for drinks 🙂 There is also a small air conditioned room with some chairs for heat breaks.
We’ll kick off with cocktails and appetizers, followed by dinner and fun and dancing. We should have food available for almost any diet.
Getting there: Both Google Maps and Apple Maps take you to the correct parking lot if you put in 2001 Steele St or City Park Pavilion. For those that like diagrams, here is one below: Pavilion near the bottom left with parking in the lot with the yellow star – left middle.
Places to Stay
There are 2 hotel areas near the Pavilion.
The better value will be in a group around Quebec St and I-70, the DoubleTree, Holiday Inn, Renaissance and Courtyard
Cherry Creek is the other area which is a fancy neighborhood and has hotel prices to match. There are several boutique hotels. There are a lot of shops and restaurants and lots to see just strolling around.
We didn’t obtain any special rates as they aren’t much of a discount if any.
Around Denver
You can check Trip Advisor and the like and talk with us. A few standouts to us:
City Park (where the party and pavilion are!) also contains the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Zoo, tennis courts, fountains, historic markers, rose gardens, running trails, the best views in the city, and lots of shady areas.
Evergreen – a town about 40 minutes west of Denver in the foothills. A beautiful lake, lots of hiking options, usually a bit cooler, and some fun restaurants, breweries and shops. Something to do on Friday morning before the party or any other time.
RiNo – River North neighborhood in Denver and about 10 minutes form Pavilion. Lots of street murals particularly on Larimer St, and in RiNo Art Alley, along with everything you would expect from a ‘trendy’ area – including food halls and fun people watching.
RSVP: Please respond to the eVite by July 5, 2024 so we can get counts to the caterers!
